Shinyee Seet was born in a vibrant small town in Malaysia called Melaka. Destiny brought her to New York on her birthday, the year of 2017 and she has been here since. Given her ever-changing life circumstances, 2 things never waver- her faith in Jesus Christ and her nature to create.
Shinyee believes strongly that the eyes need to travel and feed and to date, she has been to 16 countries. She also loves to frequent art galleries, museums and art fairs. And this belief translates into all her work. Her inspiration spans from the tiles in her grandma's house to a bathtub in Berlin, and to the heavenly visions she saw. Her work is also reminiscent of the aesthetics and ruggedness of Melaka, where a part of her never leaves.
Shinyee attended Illinois Institute of Technology briefly for Architecture and dropped out for a degree in Advertising & PR at Loyola University Chicago. Shinyee loved her summer art class at UC Berkeley that changes the course of her career path. Then, she attended Miami Ad School to complete her portfolio as an Art Director. All this to say that she has background in fine arts, advertising, graphic design, video editing, photography, directing, and interior design and more to come.But she is still unsure about NFTs.
